Question by cheercat2012: What is the best way to build a dance studio?
I am thinking about building a little dance studio in my basement and I was wondering what things I would need to know like the best flooring, mirrors, barres, etc,.
-How large should the space be on average?
-What brand of floor?
-Is there a special way I should clean the floor?
-Anything else you think I should know? Any tips?

First you will need a sprung or floating floor. You cannot dance on cement. Then marley on top. Your biggest problem is once you put in a sprung floor you loose height and your ceiling is too close for jumps usually. Let me tell you, this is very expensive! If you don’t dance on a sprung or floating floor, you will damage your knees and joints. To learn more about what is involved go to this site. They do have the best prices as well a so-it-yourself- installation instructions.

Remember, dancing at home you get no corrections and can build bad habits that are hard to break. Instead of spending all this will cost, use the money to take class everyday. It will be cheaper and you will get corrections and become a better dancer than trying on your own.
