Question by a-: What excuses should I use to the dance instructor, to quit dance classes?
So, I joined dance classes and I suck!!! Everyone is super professionals at dancing and I can’t keep up. They think that everyone there can take in every single step. So, I want to quit.

What excuse should I use to the dance instructor??

Please do not write an answer saying KEEP TRYING. Because I tried MANY TIMES and they won’t slow down!

Best answer:

Answer by Swan ♥s Rudolf Nureyev
Instead of them slowing down, do the opposite. Practice at home for as long as your moves are not perfect. Use the moves that you see in class and practice, practice, practice at home! Where do you think all those dancers in your class got good? It certainly wasn’t by doing absolutely nothing. Be quick and try to follow the dancers’ pace.

Don’t quit. You just started. You haven’t have time to get ‘into’ it, you haven’t had time to adjust yourself to it.

Hope it didn’t sound mean, that wasn’t my purpose.

What do you think? Answer below!

Question by realdeal: What is a good dance style to learn after a back surgery?
I’m getting a back surgery over the summer, so it will take a while for me to get back into dancing. But once I do, I would like to try something new (I currently take Flamenco). Any ideas? Oh, if this helps…I LOVE musical theater. Yeah, any dance style that helps me there could also be good. Thanks!

Best answer:

Answer by Jeanne B
ballet, jazz, or modern

ballet; in most theatre, they go off ballet. ballet is handy to know

jazz: is a little more modern, chicago type things

modern: modern is a good streatch, and is just fun, would help with physcial therepy.

good luck

I’m going to college in 2 years and I’my trying to plan out everything. If i get a ba in business what jobs can I work at in order to start my dance studio?

Best answer:

Answer by OCU Dance
If you want to own your own dance studio Oklahoma City University’s American Dance Teacher degree or Dance Management degree might be something for you to look into. The American Dance Teacher degree was designed for dancers who want to become the best dance teacher possible. Students take classes in tap, jazz and ballet technique and pedagogy, choreography, dance studio management as well as a core of business classes to prepare them to own and manage their own studios. The Dance Management degree program prepares students to manage the arts. Dance management students take tap, jazz and ballet technique classes, arts management classes, and a core of business classes. Dance management graduates have gone on to be dance studio owners, company managers, tour managers, event coordinators and more. For more information about both of these programs go to www.okcu.edu/dance_amgt.

Question by Mary Robin: How do you dance to bluegrass music at a wedding?
We went with this great bluegrass band for our wedding but not sure how to do the wedding dance.

Best answer:

Answer by Mel in St. Louis
I am wondering the same thing… having recently decided to have a bluegrass band at our wedding… You could try a modified jig (lots of connections between old appalaichian music and irish folk music) or perhaps a contra dance (kind of like a square dance). Many bluegrass bands can hook you up with contra ‘callers’ if you don’t think it’s too hokey. Perhaps you could work that into the progression from first dance to adding the other dancers to the floor, dancing with the parents, etc…

some of the swing dance steps might be adaptable to bluegrass… maybe…

Another option is to just dance however you feel like dancing – it’s your day and you should feel great!
